How do I know if I need an interior designer for my project?
Here are some situations when a designer is right for a project:
- You’re planning a home remodel, kitchen or bathroom renovation, or designing a custom home
- You have a busy schedule and don’t want to manage the project
- You prefer to only see a few of the best options versus having a hundred choices
- You love to delegate to experts who have deep knowledge and experience
- You want guidance in bringing on other trusted trades (builders, GCs, etc.)
WILL YOU WORK WITH MY ARCHITECT, BUILDER, OR GENERAL CONTRACTOR?
Absolutely! KP Home works alongside your architect, builder, contractor, or other trade professionals — or we can introduce you to several we know, trust, and work well with. HOW LONG WILL MY PROJECT TAKE?
Every project is unique and so is its timeline. As we begin to define your project scope in the early stages, we will clearly communicate the length of the project. Note: While we prioritize efficiently wherever possible, we don’t believe in compromising quality. Great design is a balance.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO INVEST IN INTERIOR DESIGN?
Like project timelines, design rates vary based on the project's scope. While we can’t give you a number here, we always ask about your desired budget and we make sure to discuss numbers at every stage of the process. This creates full transparency and clear expectations.
AM I REQUIRED TO PURCHASE MATERIALS AND FURNISHINGS THROUGH YOU?
As part of our full-service design process, we take care of all the materials and furnishing purchases for you — and this is one of the advantages of working with us. As designers we have access to showrooms and high-quality products that are not available to the public.
Of course, if you have any existing pieces you would like to incorporate into the design, such as heirlooms or sentimental items, we’re happy to create a design that includes them. We’re all about interiors designed for self-expression and meaning!

HOW DO I KNOW IF I WILL LIKE THE DESIGN?
Our design process was created specifically to help us get to the heart of what you love. From exploring your style together to various checkpoints along the way, we continue learning, getting your feedback, and tailoring the design to you. In the end, the design is a combination of your style preferences, your daily lifestyle, and the pieces that are meaningful to you — and we’re confident you will love it.
WHEN CAN YOU START MY PROJECT?
Depending on availability, we aim to begin your project within a month or two of our initial meeting. Project start dates do vary based on architect, builder and trades availability as well, so we will also make it a point to coordinate the start date with them.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVE?
We serve the greater Chicago area, including the following suburbs: LaGrange, Hinsdale, Park Ridge, Oak Park, River Forest, Western Springs, Burr Ridge, Evanston, Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe, and Highland Park.
